Do ever think about how you changed over the years? For example, how you change between your 6th and 8th grade year. well I’m going to talk about the similarities and differences between my 6th and 8th grade year. In my opinion it mainly depends on the people you hang out with. It also depends on your view of school.

     My 6th grade and 8th grade year had alot of things in common. For instance, I still have the same view on school, which is, go to school mainly because of friends. I also still have some of the same goals. Likewise I have some of the same achievements as the year before. The main thing that I would have to say that is similar is the fact that I still look the same.

   I have alot of differences throughout these years. Firstly, I hang out with different people. I used to just hang out with the people I went to elementary with, but now I hang out with new different people. I also used to be really shy. However, now I have the courage and the ability to present to a class or make new friends.

     I guess in the end we really do change or may even get mature. In my opinion the more we go to school the more abilities we get. Such as, getting the courage to be able to stand and present to a class. Then some, may just stay the same like your goals or maybe even personality. I guess we all just have to go through it and find out. 

 Journal Entry #22:  Examine your school and life goals. Select two of the most important goals and explain how you have worked on or accomplished them. Give specific examples and details. (4 paragraphs, use transitional words, include a picture)

   Do you have school or life goals. Many people may have alot,but do you actually work hard to accomplish them. For example, some people say they will try to cut down on the sweets, but do they actually cut down? Some of these maybe some of the hardest or maybe even the easiest, but we all have our own ways of accomplishing them. Today I am going to discuss some of my goals that I have worked really hard to accomplish.

   My first goal that I am going to talk about is my school goal. My goal was that I would try my best to graduate with at least a 90 percent G.P.A. average. Even up to now I really try my best to accomplish this because I get alot of things out of just doing this one goal. I know that if i accomplish this I would get good gifts when graduation time comes and not only that, but it would make a good report on the years to come when I get a job. I have really tried my best to make this goal and so far, it seems like this goal is about to be achieved. All I have to do now, is keep up my grades and it will be mission accomplished.

 My second goal was to try to be different from the rest of my family. By this I mean, be one of the first girl in my family to be really smart. I  mean like the one different from all my cousins in my attitude likewise, academic wise. I really try to change my attitude towards school, and try to think of it as a really fun and interesting place to be. I also try to make new friends along the way, and try not to follow every one of my family members footsteps. In my opinion I guess what I mean is just being myself.

   This concludes my essay. These are some things that so far seem to be accomplish, just need a little more effort. I hope in these next few more weeks I accomplish at least one of these goals. Especially my goal about graduating with an A grade point average. I hope you can also make and achieve goals of your own.

Everyone is different in their own way. Doesn’t matter if they’re girls or boy they are all different. Even people of the same color and gender are different, but still manage to have similarities. I interviewed Erin and shaelene and below are their similarities and differences.   

Here are some of there similarities. Erin and Shaelene both love and enjoy playing sports. They also manage to get good grades, in like fashion are very smart. They both have a great time shopping, likewise talking to friends. They are also the same height. These are only some things in common.   

Now, for their differences. First of all Erin wears contact; however Shaelene doesn’t need them. The other thing is Shaelene has long straight hair, on the other hand Erin has short curly hair. Erin’s favorite color is purple while Shaelene’s color is blue.  When asked if they could visit anywhere in the world Shaelene responded to Paris because it was a nice place to visit. On the contrary Erin responded that she would visit Egypt because it looked like an interesting place to visit.    

During this interview I had found out that sometimes people have more differences than they do in common. There are different people everywhere and who knows you may have something in common with them. This is what turned out when I asked questions to Shaelene and Erin who look like they have much in common. Then I found out that I was wrong they have more differences than they are alike.  So, the main point is every person has something different that makes each and everyone of us special.

In my opinion everyone did a great job presenting. To me it was all nice and pretty. I think they actually took their time to do the powerpoint or slideshow. I like the way Alana had alot of information with really interesting pictures. I also like Christian’s slideshow. I thought it was sweet when he was presenting and he stated that in his opinion the best cookies are homemade. Everyone else also did a great job and also was very informational.

   How they can improve their presentation. Mainly for everyone that presented I think that they all had the same thing that needed to be improved. To me I think all they needed to improve was their posture and their voice projection. Other than that everyone did great. It was just that one thing that needed to be improved.

In Creative Writing class we had to pick a topic and research about that certain topic. As for me I chose my topic to be about Samoa and it’s culture.In my opinion the researching part was very easy. All you had to do was go on google type in your subject and the pages dealing with your subject will appear. Then, you can either copy the whole page or copy certain parts. 

    After you were done gathering all your information,  you had to write 5 paragraphs dealing with the subject in your own words. That to me would be one of the diffulculties I had doing this. It was also hard because there was alot of information and you don’t know which one to use. I also had to be careful that I didn’t plagiarize and that to me was the hardest part.

  Out of this whole research the most interesting thing that I have learned is about the Samoan tattoos. According to “Samoan Culture” one of the best-known features of the Samoan culture is ritual tattoo . These tattoos are elaborate designs starting from the waist down to the knees. I was also suprised to find out that males usually get tattooed at the age of 13-14.  This is the most interesting thing that I have learned throughout this research. 

 The first thing I know about recycling is that recycling helps our enviroment and the earth. Recycling is also a good way to preserve our natural resources and fossil fuels. There are many ways to recycle and so many little things that can make a big difference in our community. Recycled things usually get melted down to make new things like how paper is recycled to make toilet paper. There are some disadvantages though, because when we burn these things the smoke destroys our atmosphere. The other thing is that some of these things that get burned leave chemical hazards. Other than that recycling does more good than bad.

   What I would like to learn about recycling. I would like to know more if there are other ways recycling material without burning. I would also like to know the recyling process, like what happens to all the things that we recycle and where do they go? The other thing is what other things do they make with the stuff that we recycle. What other stuff can be recycled? The last but not least is how many people recycle or how many pounds of cans or other stuff do people recycle every year.

    During class we went to recycle city and learned new things. We learned that we have to tryto reduce, re-use, and recycle as much as possible. We should buy as few hazardous substances as possible. There are also some items around the house that are hazardous if just thrown away because it can harm animal and plant life. Hazardous material or chemicals are brought to the incineration transfer area where it is heated and broken down into a non hazardous form. The resulting ash is hazardous, so it is buried in the hazardous waste landfill.There is also recycled car parts. That is when you  recycle broken down cars or car parts. That is what I learned when we went to recycle city.

  Bullying is a really serious thing that we should be careful about . It should be taken care of because when people get bullied it may cause them to have a major breakdown. It may also cause them to even commit suicide. Bullying should not be allowed in or out of schools. That is why they teach students what to do when being bullied, and how to avoid it.

  What is cyber-bullying? According to cyber-bullying wikipedia,cyber-bullying  is a form of bullying, but instead of them saying it physically by mouth they send it online. It also includes threats or something making you do something that you don’t really want to do. For example like the slang/slam book, and chain letters that says stuff like if you don’t repost this something bad will happen to you tonight. These are only some examples of cyber-bullying.

  With cyber-bullying there are many different kinds of effects. Each person has a different effect depending on how they take the bullying. There are some students who take it really seriously. They actually take it to the point where they take their own life. Then there are others who have breakdowns every now and then because of what was done to them.

Cyber-bullying can be prevented by making a rule preventing cyber-bullying. According to Cyber-bullying MSNBC, There are some educators who are coming up with rules and consequences for online bullying. The other way online bullying can be prevented is to not care or not listen to what people actually putonline.  

  What I learned. I have learned alot about cyber-bullying. For example, there are different ways of being bullied. This type of bullying affects people and can sometimes cause people to acutually hurt themselves. I also learned that cyber-bullying is actually more dangerous than we think. We should also take responsibilities of our own actions because it affects everyone, and if we can prevent cyber-bullying it can make a big difference in our community.

    In this class I have learned alot about handhelds. We learn how to operate the handheld,and it’s parts. We learned stuff like how to make a web diagram on the hadheld using  pico map.We learned how to do grafitti and play games to learn grafitti using giraffe. We also learn how to make quizzes on quizzler and so much more.This is what I learned so far about handhelds.

  In my opinion the most interesting aspect would be the fact that we get to use handhelds. It is really cool not only because it is still kind of new, but the fact that we get to use this kind of technology today. Even kids back then or most kids didn’t have the chance to use up to date computers or technology.  The other interesting aspect I have alot of fun learning using the handheld. It kind of motivates me to come to school learn something new using a handheld.

 My New Years Resolution. Have you ever thought about your New Years Resolution? As for me it took me a while just to think of mine. It took me two days just to come up with three resolutions. New Year’s  Resolutions are good to have to change bad habits.

 My first resolution is to get organized. I chose this because at times everything is mixed up it is really hard to find things that I am looking for. Not only that, but to get ready for school and things faster. This is what my first resolution.

 My second resolution is to make new friends and to meet new people. I chose this because I am shy. I also chose it so I can meet new faces. It’s also a good way to be nice to people. Not only that, but it means more friends.

 My last, but not least is to try my best to graduate. I want to graduate from Untalan, then after that then high-school. I want to do my best, so I won’t be a dropout. I also want to get a good job with good pay. That is my last resolution.

 How am I going to accomplish these resolutions? For the first one I have to start cleaning out my room and put them in order. For the second one I am going to try my best to talk to people and make friends with them. The last one I have to really concentrate on school. I also have to get good or passing grades.

 If your into drama and you like to watch interesting movies, then I think you should watch The Outsiders. The Outsiders is and old movie, but is always fun to watch. The actors or some actors are really famouse. One of the actors include Tom Cruise. He is shown in the rumble or the fight.

  The good thing about this movie is that you get to see how things are between the socs and the greasers. The greasers are the lower group, who have long hair and they always put alot of grease in their hair. Grease is also known as hair gel. The socs are the higher class and they always wear nice clothes. It’s also about a boy who runs away because he murdered someone ,but wants to go back home even if he has to face the consequences. The rest of the movie is , well I can’t spoil the movie so you just have to watch The Outsiders.
